This is who we work for. He demands very little from us really. A place to sleep, protected from the elements. A regular meal and clean water to drink, and a bit of exercise every day. But throw in a scratch on the head or a rub on the belly, and he will reward you tenfold over in love and gratitude.

There are many ways, big and small, to help the most-deserving shelter dogs and cats get that second chance at life. If you're interested in helping us help them, contact us: info@citypetrescue.com We would like to get to know you just a little bit, learn about some of your specific interests and how you think you can best contribute.

Please consider the possibilities below or make us aware of other skills or passions that you have to offer our canine and feline clients.

Become a A Foster/
The first thing all our animals need is to be released from the shelter. We can easily do that for them but only if they have a place to go, a foster home, once they're out. A foster home is a way-station until a permanent home can be found. There are never enough foster homes for the dogs and cats who need them. If you have a place in your home (and in your heart) for one of these dogs or cats, let us know and we can make immediate arrangements to save one more.

Get Them Medical Help/
Most of these animals come out of the shelter with parasites and dirty, matted hair. Some are injured or sick. Almost all need to be spayed or neutered and need vaccinations. So our immediate concern, after finding them a place to stay, is to address their medical needs. To keep our expenses as low as possible, we attempt to use the low-cost veterinary clinics in the area as often as we can. However, these clinics are not always conveniently located, nor are the appointments always at convenient times. So these doggies and kitties are extra grateful if you can give them a ride to the doc.

Raise More Money to Save More Animals/
Our adoption fees just barely cover the medical costs of preparing a healthy dog or cat for adoption. The fees we take in do not cover the incidental expenses of giving these pets a second chance at life for instance, the costs of food and other supplies, transportation costs, printing and copying costs, etc. So we are always eager to hear your ideas for and enlist your energies in fundraising events. The more money we raise, the more cats and dogs we can save. And by participating, you'll make some human friends along the way, too!
