Ivy
Chihuahua - 7 years old - female

Ivy is a tiny little lady, not even 5 lbs., who was turned into the shelter as a stray and then ran out of time there. We were alerted to her plight and went to pick her up. She was very malnourished and sad when she got to her foster home. But she has put on weight and made friends with the rest of the foster dogs where she lives and now will wag her tail energetically and dance amidst the legs of the bigger dogs when her foster mom comes home, or when it's dinner time and she knows she's going to get her big bowl of yummy food. Ivy sleeps next to her foster mom's head in a teeny tiny little ball and doesn't make a peep all night. She loves to go for rides in the car and would make a great little carry-along companion. Ivy is a mature girl, maybe 7-8 years old, but she's spunky and has many more years ahead of her. If you think you'd like to give Ivy a forever home, apply for her on our website: www.citypetrescue.com

Jordon
Doberman - 3 year old - male

Jordon is a 3-4-year-old Doberman who is eager to find a forever home where his sole mission will be to please his humans. He is a very happy boy who loves to play with other medium to large dogs. He has a great attitude toward life considering all he's been through. He was in bad shape straight out of the shelter. He was treated for heart worm and came through with flying colors. Jordan is learning his manners at an astounding rate! He gets along with small children and anyone who is kind and will make a fine family pet as long as the family is ready for a happy, high energy, "plays a little rowdy" typical Dobie! Just look at that face. He's a sweetie!

Max and Theodore
Lab mix - 8 months old - male

Max and Teddy were found living in the restroom building of a park in Old East Dallas. Teddy had taken on the role of big brother and protector, guarding the door, as Max's leg was badly hurt. Max’s leg is all better and Teddy has been able to relax and enjoy life now that they’re safe and sound in their new foster home.

They don't have to go to a home together but we're hoping to adopt them out as a pair as they are just so good with each other. Like they're connected at the hip! Just look at the togetherness in these photos!

They're nearly 8 months old; totally housebroken; know how to use a doggy door; love to play with their squeaky toys and to go on walks. They also play really well with their other doggie housemates, both boys and girls. (Cats are not on their list of friends.) If you are interested in meeting this special duo please fill out an online application.

Spuds
Pyrenees/Aussie mix - 11 months old - male

Spuds and his sister were dumped into an east Dallas neighborhood during a very cold weather snap. They sought refuge under porches and back decks and were often seen running together down the alleys. They were finally wrangled into a backyard and brought into a foster home...just puppies! and strikingly beautiful. Pyrenees (with double dew claws) and probably Aussie mix. Spud's sister has already found her forever home and now it's time for Spuds! He is a total LOVE!! He is gentle and calm and is a leaner...will lean into you for affection, and sink slowly to the ground for tummy rubs. He also loves to run and play and gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. You have to meet this boy to see how stunning he is!!  He's going to be a big dog, but not X-large like a true pyreneese. And so smart and sweet. If you're interested in Spuds, apply for him today!

Toby
Terrier mix - 11 months old - male

I'm not quite a year old, I'm neutered, current on my vaccinations and ready for a loving family. About 2 months ago, I was near death. I was all skin and bones, from a bad bacteria that was making me bleed internally. I was pale and anemic from losing so much blood, and didn’t even have the energy to look for food any more. That’s when I decided to choose a home. I chose a small house, that had lots of dog smells. I figured this meant, the owners must love dogs, and might love me too. I sat on the porch from about 4 am until 9 am., until they couldn’t resist my golden-green eyes, and my submissive charm. I was sleeping in their laps in no time. It wasn’t long after meeting me that they took me to the doctor, got me the right medicine, gave me shots, and took away my manhood…but I didn’t mind. Love conquers all, and I know how to love and be loved.

My favorite things to do:

SLEEPING IN THE LAZY BOY
SNEAKING INTO MOM’S BED AND THROWING THE PILLOWS OFF
HIDING MOM’S SNEAKERS
TRYING TO FIT ALL 40 POUNDS OF ME INTO MOM’S LAP
PLAYING FETCH W/MY RUBBER FOOTBALL
BONES
WRESTLING W/MY BROTHERS
RIDING IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEE

Apply for me online by going to the ADOPT page!

Uno
Heeler mix - 1 year old - male

Uno is a sweet, 1-year old heeler mix who needs a home with an active family or maybe a runner, where he can get lots of exercise and stay busy as a good heeler should. Uno was rescued along with his 8 siblings when they were just little pups. Uno thought he had a permanent home but things just didn't work out. It was claimed that he is too rambunctious for small children, so he's back in foster care and looking again for the perfect home. Uno is a happy and very loving young dog. His foster mom says he's a joy to have around because he has such a positive outlook on life!! Plus he's easy ...well behaved and responds well to commands. And he gets along great with the the other dogs in the family. Uno could benefit from lots of exercise...long daily walks or jogging or trips to the dog park, which he loves. If you'd like to give Uno the permanent and nurturing home he deserves, apply for him today by going to the ADOPT page.
