City Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation established by a core group
of veteran animal rescuers in February 2004. The founders and volunteers
of City Pet Rescue collectively
bring many years of experience to our rescue
mission.
Our mission/
City Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer organization dedicated mainly to:
* rescuing dogs and cats from local kill shelters before they
can be euthanized
* placing them in secure, loving homes
* promoting spaying and neutering as vital to solving the problem of unwanted
and abandoned pets
* recruiting, cultivating and empowering volunteers to achieve these goals.
In addition, City Pet Rescue is committed to promoting the welfare of all companion
animals through the development of programs that ensure the best match between
adopter and pet; educate adopters about health, safety and behavioral issues;
and strive to minimize animal "returns" by addressing the reasons behind those
returns.
